Emergency and intensive care medicine

Emergency and intensive care medicine is a specialised branch of medicine that deals with the immediate treatment and monitoring of life-threatening, ill or injured patients. It includes initial treatment in emergencies (poisoning, trauma, obstetric emergencies), stabilisation of patients, emergency diagnostics as well as intensive care for patients with serious illnesses or after major surgical procedures. Including the creation of targeted treatment plans. Emergency and intensive care medicine requires fast and precise action as well as comprehensive expertise in pathophysiology, pharmacology and monitoring techniques. The aim is the optimal stabilisation and recovery of critically ill patients.

Surgery

Through a detailed examination of the patient, also with the help of the latest imaging technology, it is possible for our specialised and experienced surgeons to localise problems. Once the cause has been identified, further sensible steps for any extended diagnostics and therapy are discussed with the pet owner and the private veterinarian. All necessary operations can be performed directly in the clinic. After the surgical procedure, the patient's owner and private veterinarian are informed in detail. Our surgeons are available for further follow-up care in order to achieve the fastest possible recovery.

Internal medicine

Internal medicine is a very diverse field. Our internal medicine specialists study the patients' preliminary report in detail and carry out a general clinical examination. Further diagnostics, such as blood tests, imaging procedures or endoscopy, can confirm suspected diagnoses and find suitable treatment. The team has all the necessary equipment at its disposal so that the desired results can be achieved as quickly as possible.

Pain consultation, Rehabilitation, Palliative Care

Rehabilitation: The veterinarians and animal physiotherapists who specialise in this field accompany your animal after operations and other therapy paths in order to shorten the rehabilitation period and optimise the success.
Pain consultation and palliative care: Patients with pain problems that cannot be conclusively treated or localised also need further support. This also applies to all arthrosis patients and general geriatric patients with several "construction sites". The team accompanies your loved one and, together with you and the specialists of the corresponding departments, finds the appropriate accompanying therapy measures to optimise the quality of life.

Cardiology

Heart diseases are detected by a cardiological assessment, e.g. echocardiography, blood pressure measurement or an ECG. Our specialised cardiologist then draws up an individual therapy plan.

Imaging diagnostics

X-ray diagnostics very often enable a diagnosis - for example in the case of bone fractures or joint diseases. In addition, X-rays for internal medicine provide a valuable overview of the thoracic and abdominal organs. For some breeds, a radiographic screening for hip joint or elbow dysplasia is necessary for breeding approval.

Neurology

Neurology diagnoses and treats diseases of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. If these structures become diseased, this manifests itself, for example, in the form of seizure disorders (epilepsy), balance disorders or paralysis (e.g. due to a slipped disc). Our neurology department also treats tumours, inflammations or infections of the brain or spinal cord. Animals with paralysis and non-orthopaedic lameness, but also with behavioural changes, seizures and reduced sensory perception, such as loss of hearing or vision, are cases for neurological examination. Our specialised doctors perform examinations such as imaging diagnostics, cerebrospinal fluid puncture and its microscopic examination, as well as electrodiagnostics to find the cause of a disease.
