2. Controller for the data processing

VetTrust is the controller of the data processing described in this privacy policy.
If you have any questions or wish to exercise your data subject’s rights, please contact us at datenschutz@vettrust.ch.

3. Personal data processed during communication and service provision

We collect the information you provide to us when you contact us, or use, respectively enquire about our services, or apply for a job with us.
This includes general personal data, e.g. name and contact details (such as address, e-mail address, telephone number), as well as, where applicable, details of your position or role in the organisation on behalf of which you are contacting us.
If you apply for a job with us, we process the data you provide, such as your contact details, your qualifications and other information in your CV. This regularly includes personal data that we receive in correspondence or in meetings with customers or business partners, e.g. your name and details of your role as a team member of the customer or business partner. We also collect some personal data ourselves, e.g. from public registers or websites.
Communication by electronic means is unencrypted.

4. Provision and use of our website

Server log files
You can find out about VetTrust and our range of services on the website without telling us who you are. As with any connection to a web server, the provider of this website automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
browser type and browser version
operating system used
referrer URL
host name of the accessing computer
time of the server request
This data cannot be attributed to specific individuals. This data is not merged with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of specific indications of illegal use.
Web analysis
We use web analysis services (currently Google Analytics) to evaluate the use of the website and obtain information for its optimisation. The web analysis services we use collect and store usage data using cookies. Before being transmitted to a server outside Switzerland/the EU/the EEA, the requesting IP addresses are shortened. Thus, we do not transmit any personal data to the provider of web analysis services abroad.
Resources from external websites
We integrate resources from external servers into our website. These include technical resources.
The technical resources are used to improve the performance or security of our website. When these resources are accessed, the operator of the external servers learns your IP address and/or certain peripheral data that is necessary for the use of the external operator's servers.
The use of cookies
We use cookies on our website. These are small text files that make it possible to store specific information relating to the user on the user's terminal device while they are using the website. Cookies enable us to determine the frequency of use and number of users of the pages, analyse behaviour patterns in the use of the pages, but also to make our offering more customer-friendly. Cookies remain stored after the end of a browser session and can be retrieved when the page is visited again.
Some of the cookies we use are necessary to provide certain functions of the website. In addition, we use cookies to analyse the use of the website and to obtain information for optimising the website. You can instruct your browser not to accept cookies or to ask you before a cookie is set. Please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all the functions of this online offer. You can also delete cookies on your device by using the corresponding function of your browser.
Use of SSL/TLS encryption
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries you send to us as the site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL, respectively TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Use of Google Maps
This website uses, if need be, Google Maps for embedding maps, Google Invisible reCAPTCHA for protection against bots and spam, and YouTube for embedding videos.
These services from the American company Google LLC use cookies, among other things, and as a result, data is transferred to Google in the USA. We assume that in this context no personal tracking takes place solely through the use of our website.
Google has committed to ensuring adequate data protection in accordance with the US-European and US-Swiss frameworks (EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF)). Further information can be found in Google's privacy policy.
Use of Google Remarketing
This website uses the remarketing function of Google Inc. This function is used to present interest-based advertisements to website visitors within the Google advertising network. A cookie is stored in the website visitor's browser, which makes it possible to recognise the visitor when they visit websites that belong to the Google advertising network. On these pages, visitors can be presented with advertisements that relate to content that the visitor has previously viewed on websites that use Google's remarketing function. According to Google, no personal data is collected during this process. If you nonetheless do not wish to use Google's remarketing function, you can deactivate it by default by adjusting the settings at http://www.google.com/settings/ads.
Use of Google Ads
This website uses Google's online marketing tool Google Ads ("Google Ads"). Google Ads uses cookies to serve advertisements that are relevant to users, to improve campaign performance reports, or to prevent a user from seeing the same advertisements multiple times. Google uses a cookie ID to track which advertisements are placed in which browser and can thus prevent them from being displayed multiple times. In addition, Google Ads can use cookie IDs to track so-called conversions, which are related to advertisements requests. This is the case, for example, when a user sees a Google Ads advertisement and later visits the advertiser's website with the same browser and makes a purchase there. According to Google, Google Ads cookies do not contain any personal information.
Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. By integrating Google Ads, Google receives information that you have accessed the relevant part of our website or clicked on one of our advertisements. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google, respectively have not logged in, it is possible that Google will find out and store your IP address.
You can prevent participation in this tracking process in various ways:
by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly; in particular, by suppressing third-party cookies, you will not receive any third-party advertisements;
by deactivating cookies for conversion tracking via the link https://adssettings.google.com. However, this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies;
by deactivating interest-based advertising from providers who are part of the "About Ads" self-regulation campaign via the link https://www.aboutads.info/choices. However, this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies;
by permanently deactivating it in your Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome browsers via the link https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. Please note that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent.
Further information about Google Ads from Google is available at https://ads.google.com/intl/de_DE/home/, as well as about data protection at Google in general: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
Use of Google Tag Manager
Google Tag Manager is a solution that allows us to manage so-called website tags via an interface and thus integrate for ex. Google Analytics and other Google marketing services into our online offering. The Tag Manager itself, which implements the tags, does not process any personal data of the users. With regard to the processing of users' personal data, please refer to the following information on Google services. Terms of use: https://www.google.com/intl/de/tagmanager/use-policy.html
Use of Adobe Fonts
We use Adobe Fonts for the visual design of our website. Adobe Fonts is a service provided by Adobe Systems Incorporated, 345 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA 95110-2704, USA (Adobe), which grants us access to a font library. To integrate the fonts we use, your browser must connect to an Adobe server in the USA and download the font required for our website. This provides Adobe with information that our website has been accessed from your IP address. For more information about Adobe Fonts, please refer to Adobe's privacy policy, which you can access here: Adobe Fonts
Use of Meta Ads (including Pixel & Conversion API)
We use advertising services from Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Meta") on our website, in particular for the placement of personalised advertising and for the analysis and performance measurement of our campaigns ("Meta Ads"). This includes, among other things, the use of the Meta Pixel as well as, if necessary, the server-side transmission of usage data (so-called Conversion API) and the creation of target groups (Custom Audiences).
With the help of these services, we can display targeted advertising on Meta's platforms (Facebook, Instagram) ("retargeting") to users who have visited our website or performed certain actions. We also receive reports from Meta on the reach and effectiveness of our advertisements (conversion tracking).
In particular, the following data may be processed: IP address, information about the device and browser used, pages visited, interactions on the website and, where applicable, email address (e.g. for Custom Audiences) as well as technical identifiers (e.g. cookie IDs).
Data processing is based on your consent via our consent management tool, which you can revoke at any time with future effect. Data transfer to Meta may include transfer to the USA, whereby the data is protected by standard data protection clauses provided by Meta.
Further information on data processing by Meta can be found in Meta's privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

7. Use and optimisation of our newsletter (electronic and by post)

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the information you provide to us. This includes general personal data such as your first name, surname, address and email address. We use analytics services to measure and analyse the use of our electronic newsletter. The analytics services collect and analyse usage data such as the number of persons who opened a newsletter or clicked on specific articles. We receive evaluations based on this data. These enable us to optimise our newsletter and provide you with content that interests you.
We use Mailchimp, a service provided by Intuit Inc., 405 Howard St, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA ("Mailchimp"), to send our newsletter and analyse its use.
The data collected when registering for the newsletter and the usage data are stored and processed on Mailchimp's servers in the USA. Mailchimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletters on our behalf. Mailchimp may also use the data to improve its own services, but it will not contact you directly. Switzerland and the United States of America have concluded the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-US DPF). US companies can be certified under this data protection framework. For data transfers to US companies that are certified under the Swiss-US DPF, there is an adequate level of data protection in accordance with Swiss data protection law. Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) is certified under the Swiss-US DPF, so no additional guarantees are required for the transfer of your data to Mailchimp as long as this certification is valid. Further information on data protection at Mailchimp can be found at: https://www.intuit.com/privacy/statement/.
You can also let us know at any time that you no longer wish to receive our newsletter. To do so, please use the unsubscribe link at the end of the electronic newsletter. If you click on this link, we will no longer measure and analyse your use of the newsletter in future.
