Securing the future at Clinica Alpina
Largest veterinary clinic in the Engadine is handed over to VetTrust and long-time employees
The Clinica Alpina with its two locations in Scuol and Samedan is the largest provider of veterinary care in the Engadine and it is impossible to imagine life without it. The Scuol site is one of the most modern veterinary clinics in Europe. It has a comprehensive surgical infrastructure for farm animals, horses and small animals as well as optimal capacities for hospitalisation and rehabilitation. It combines conventional and complementary medicine in a unique and exemplary way. The individual care of the patient is its highest goal. The clinic has been managed by Dr. Men Bischoff for ten years now. The previous four partners, which in addition to Dr. Bischoff include his wife Maya, Prof. Franco Taisch and his wife Annatina, have invested a great deal of energy in the development of the locations and structures in recent years.
Now a succession plan has been found that will secure the long-term future of the clinic. "I am very pleased that Dr Benjamin Biner, a long-time employee of the clinic, will succeed me as the clinic's managing director and clinic manager. I hold him in very high esteem, just as I do our clients, both professionally and as a person," says Bischoff. The fact that it was possible to find a successor from among our own ranks who is familiar to everyone is of course extremely gratifying for patient owners and staff.
Together with VetTrust AG, the largest group for veterinary medicine in Switzerland, Biner has also taken over the shares of the company. "With VetTrust as a strong partner, we can further expand and consolidate the structures here in the Engadine. This will also enable us to further increase medical quality in the region," explains Biner.
As the new head of the clinic, veterinarian Biner will take care of the further development of the clinic and its structures. This also includes the integration of the recently acquired CentroVet veterinary practice into the Samedan location.
Patient care will therefore remain fully assured. Men Bischoff will continue to practise for the next two years, concentrating on the care of small animals and horses. He will, of course, continue in the function of official veterinarian during this time.
VetTrust is also very pleased with the development. "With Clinica Alpina, we can significantly expand our portfolio both geographically and in terms of content. Of course, the new VetTrust VitaGreen line, which takes care of quality-assured complementary and rehabilitation medicine in Swiss veterinary medicine, also brings Clinica Alpina and VetTrust close per se," explains Dr Boris Rapp, Managing Director of VetTrust AG. "With the top modern clinic, we are entering intensively into the field of medical care for farm animals and horses". This means that VetTrust has 32 veterinary practices and clinics throughout Switzerland and is by far the largest provider of veterinary care in Switzerland. "This is a great incentive and a special responsibility for us".
