An exciting case from neurosurgery

Once again we have a very exciting case from our VetTrust Veterinary Clinic Basel. A 9-year-old Border Collie was presented to us with acute paralysis of all four legs and severe coordination problems. The neurological examination revealed findings in the cervical spine. The CT showed a herniated disc between C3-C4 with a high-grade compression of the spinal cord. The disc material could be successfully removed with a so-called ventral slot. The extruded disc material could be completely removed. The operation was performed by Gaby Wyss (neurologist) and Petar Polajnar (surgeon).
